On this page, I've listed some resources by category that will help you if you're a blogger, looking for places to get ideas for your craft projects, or free printables. And if there's a blog or website you feel should be on this list, let me know!

Blogging Tips

  • Layered Indulgence. She has some very helpful articles on successful blogging as well as her 5-day free eCourse on working with brands as well as doubling your blog traffic in 30 days.
  • Thirteen Thoughts. Her section on blogging has helped me a lot.
  • A Girl Obsessed. I just started following this blog because I like her tips and advice. She also sells an eBook, Blog Obsessed, where she shares all her tips and tricks for running a successful blog.

Craft Supplies

  • Knitting Warehouse. I love this site for yarn and other supplies for the lower prices.
  • Knit Picks. I love their yarns and in addition, they also have patterns.

Art Projects

Crochet/Knitting Patterns

  • Crochet Handmade Gift Ideas. A list of easy crochet projects that are quick to make and perfect for gifting.
  • I love her crochet patterns that are free and easy to make. She also has a YouTube channel.
  • Mama in a Stitch. I love her simple knitting patterns (once you click on this page, scroll down to see her knitting patterns). I'm actually knitting her Sedona Serenity Knit Shawl pattern. She also crochets too.
  • She is a knitter and sewer and I've been following her blog a long time.
  • Craftsy. Craftsy has an entire blog just for knitting with patterns, freebies, and all kinds of ideas.

Interesting Reads

  • I like this blog for the many articles she writes which are daily + she shares recipes, as well as home and garden decor ideas.
  • What's On My Heart Today. Devotional blog that will inspire, uplift, and encourage your Christian walk.
  • The Craftsy Blog. This blog covers all things creative from yarning to baking.

Not everyone can take stunning photographs for their blogs and that's me. Or, you might not have adequate time to learn it if you have other responsibilities. For me, I work a day job so my time is very short but I know how important good photos are to a successful blog but finding the right ones for free is extremely difficult. I'm so blessed that I found this list by reading other blogs.

I always recommend that if you want to use a photo where the usage/license/terms of use is not listed, contact the photographer first before using it. If you don't get a reply, I suggest looking for another photo. No need to get yourself into legal troubles! It's not worth it especially if you're running your blog on a frugal budget.

  • SC Stockshop. Very beautiful photos specializing in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle blogs. The pictures are for sale at various prices. You can also sign up for their mailing list to receive a free photo every month. You can shop for pictures by color or collection.
  • This site offers free photos for  bloggers, website owners, small businesses, freelancers, and social media enthusiasts. Browse through thousands of pictures without any payment even for commercial use.
  • Another site similar to In fact, you'll see some of the same pictures on both sites.
  • All the photos here are under the Creative Commons license and can be used for personal or commercial use.
  • Photos offered here are by photographers willing to share their work. Attribution is sometimes necessary depending on what the photographer requests so you'll need to read the rights to the photo you want to use.
  • This is the place I like to use to get all my free clipart from.
  • Another free place to get clipart/illustrations.
