Inspiration Week: Crochet Blankets

Crochet Baby Blanket

As an artist and crafter... and it doesn't matter what kind of art you do, you always need inspiration. I take mine in many different ways. I think I spend almost as much time looking around for ideas as I do design making. So, I decided for the week, I'll devote the next few blog posts to sharing some inspiration with you. I found images for my crochet, knitting, and paper crafting pages. Today is about crochet blankets!

What better way to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a movie? Under a blanket of course! The opening picture has the cutest colors for a baby and the yarn looks so soft which you want anyways for babies, but I like soft yarn too! The pics below are also made with the traditional granny square.

When deciding to mix colors, I look at lots of pics to see what color combos other crafters are using. Sometimes, I would have never thought a certain combination would work until I see a pic of it!

Love the pastel colors in this blanket, it looks so delicate and I just want to wrap up in it! Gives me some ideas of how to use up some scrap yarn I've collected!

Where do I look for ideas? Blogs mainly, Pinterest of course, YouTube, and I follow a few crafting groups on Facebook where everyone shares pics of their projects. Also Ravelry is a good source to look at and Instagram too. So, where do you look for inspiration?

Stay tuned for next week's Inspiration Week in the Knitting section!
