Friday Foodie Fotos: October 14

Hey my friends! Today is Friday, YAY! And we're featuring smoothies! I have fruity and healthy ones! If you're looking for ways to curb that appetite and shed a few pounds, let me give you some encouragement with these pics! And, I'm breaking with tradition and providing the recipes with each smoothie. I hope you try one or all of them!

Healthy Green Spinach Smoothie: I found this simple recipe that I have to try:

Ingredients: 2 cups fresh spinach ~ 2 cups water ~ 1 cup mango ~ 1 cup pineapple ~ 2 bananas
Use at least one frozen fruit to chill your smoothie like frozen mangos and bananas. Tightly pack 2 cups of leafy greens in a measuring cup and then toss into blender. Add water and blend together until all leafy chunks are gone. Add mango, pineapple and bananas and blend again until smooth. Serve. Recipe: 100 Days of Real Food
One of my absolute favorite smoothies: The Strawberry Smoothie. And if you need to fill a sweettooth craving, this recipe is definitely for you!

3 cups frozen strawberries ~ 2 cups water ~ 1-1/2 cups milk (any variety) ~ 1/3 cup strawberry jam. Place the frozen strawberries, strawberry jam and milk in the blender. Place the lid over the top. Puree until smooth.. Serve. Recipe: A Spicy Perspective
Another healthy smoothie: Tomatoes! They are so versatile and work well in many recipes, but today we're turning them into a smoothie!

1-2 cups of ice ~ 4 medium tomatoes ~ 1/2 cup of tomato juice ~ 1/4 cup of apple juice ~
1/4 cup of carrots (diced or chopped) ~ 1/4 cup of celery (chopped) ~ 1-2 Tsp. of Tobasco sauce (optional)
Mix ingredients in blender until well blended and serve. Recipe: The Smoothie Channel
Other Fruity Smoothies like bananas and kiwi are good too! Perfect for breakfast, perfect any time!

Banana Fruit Smoothie Ingredients:
1 cup Pineapple juice ~ 3 bananas sliced ~ 1 tbsp. honey ~ 2 cups ice. In a blender, combine pineapple juice, bananas, honey and ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve. Recipe: AllRecipes
