Finally Going to Use my Jumbo Crochet Hook

I've had my big crochet hooks in my bag for awhile, but I hadn't had a chance to use them. I was looking for the right pattern to break them out and I believe I found it. I've been on a scarf kick since we've been getting some unusually cold weather here. So, when I saw Stephanie's scarf from All About Ami Crochet Moss Fringe Scarf on Pinterest, I fell in love with it and knew I had to make me one!

I won't be using the exact yarn she uses in her pattern, but I have some Bernat Mega bulky yarn that I have left over from another scarf pattern I recently finished.

Don't you just love this scarf?!

The stitch pattern is the moss stitch which is a combination of single crochets and chain spaces and since this pattern calls for a very large hook and super bulky yarn, this scarf will work up in no time! I can't wait to get started!

This is a very soft yarn and really easy to knit or crochet with!
The pattern calls for 3 to 4 balls of The Wool yarn from We are Knitters which is 200 grams, but the Bernat Mega Bulky is 300 grams so I could probably make the scarf with 3 balls without adding the fringe. I'm not sure yet if I will add the fringe, cause that would probably mean buying a 4th ball of yarn and I'm on a strict budget. Read my post about how I'm downsizing areas of my life. Spending is definitely on the list.

I will share pics of my progress, so keep checking back here and also I'm happy to announce that I'll be selling my handmade items at a local indoor yard sale later this month. It's my first show! I'm excitedly nervous!
