A Bubbly Personality... not Always

Have you met someone that was really, genuinely bubbly? I'm not at all talking about faking it to make it. This is a person who has the personality that lights up a room every time they're in it. They can get strangers talking to each other and before long laughing like best friends. Life happens around them, but they don't let it get them down. I admit, I wish I could be like that. My moods swing all over the place!

The thing is, I want to be a real person and I've met people in church that I never saw sad or even frown. I wondered if they were always like that. Some services I've been in, you just don't dare let your feelings show on your sleeve or people might think you're not saved! That said, I know having a happy spirit is key to life, but we can't always smile. Stuff happens...

I'm not alone trying to muzzle through this world. I'm not the only one with problems.

My remedy is keeping it real but with an optimistic twist. In other words, no matter how I'm feeling or whatever problems I've got, I'm real with how I feel on the inside, and I'm transparent in prayer. On the outside, I try to stay as positive as possible and I look to encourage someone else. Sometimes, the very thing I need is the very thing I need to give. My mom used to say, "count your blessings, there's always someone out there worse off than you." She was right.

I'm not alone trying to muzzle through this world. I'm not the only one with problems. But what good will do me to wallow around in sorrow? Best thing to do is even though I'm not that bubbly person, I can take some lessons and let their smile permeate my heart, their laughter stir me up to hope, and their zest for life make realize there's a place in Heaven that God's preparing just for us to one day live forever. I can remember all the blessings I have. I can love hard the people in my life and I can look forward to seeing Jesus.
