You Need the Right Ingredients

Any good dish has to start with the best ingredients and I find life is the same way. Years ago I had this chef's knife that I really loved. I was using it to cut up all my veggies, fruits, and meats. There was just one thing wrong with it. It was a dull blade and therefore dangerous. I nicked myself many times using it. One day, I knew I had to save some money and really invest in a pro chef's knife.

I was instead blessed on my birthday when my sister-in-law bought me a full set of knives from Chicago Cutlery. You can just imagine my face when I laid my eyes on that and immediately I saw a change in how I prepped food. I had sharp knives that could cut through whatever I was preparing.

And that goes with everything about life. I gotta have the right tools for the job. In other words, if I've received some bad news, the right tool in that case is to pray to Jesus for help. I can't handle most things on my own, life is too hard but with God it's more than manageable. He tells us to put on our full armor (Ephesians 6:11-18). And, that's an everyday task.

You and I never know what's coming and so prepping ourselves in God's word, His presence, worship and praise is the best ingredients we could have.
